Woodworking
Lighthouse Lamp
The wave pattern on the base plate was modeled using parametric equations and then machined into the wood using a CNC router. The lighthouse itself was made by stacking donut-shaped pieces that were shaped using a lathe. Batteries at the base of the tower provide power for a lightbulb and a rotating mirror in the cabin of the lighthouse. The roof of the cabin can be removed to change the lightbulb, and the lighthouse itself can be separated from the base plate.
Modeled using parametric equations and milled using a CNC router with a ball nose bit.
A small motor drives an internal gear, which rotates the bearing-mirror assembly
